CRUSH LUTHER

Crush Luther makes pop music that's not as simple as it sounds. Music fans who come to their shows walk away with the entire set stuck in their heads. The insidious melodies of Luther Mallory's singing share equal space in the listener's brain with Matt "Fury" Leitch and Giggi Bongard's intriguing guitar work, Bodan Mulhollands' brilliant bass lines and Brent Mill's agile drumming.

Unexpected influences, from the lyrical rhythm of Lyle Lovett, to the mysterious blues of Tom Waits, combine in this pop/rock band from Toronto. This wide array of inspiration culminates in a perfect pop package: energy, cleverness, and a willingness to change what's expected of their generation's voice.

From Wakestock to Warped Tour, to sharing the stage with Fishbone in Montreal, Crush Luther play for audiences who don't expect to hear their kind of music, but always leave as fans. In two years of playing, Crush Luther have built an incredibly tight live show with a sense of humour, and an audience connection that far surpasses their age.

The first single, "City Girl", hit Canadian airwaves in January has already been added into rotation at Much Music and MuchMoreMusic.

Crush Luther signed to the new Toronto record label High 4 Records (owned by Goldfinger drummer, Darrin Pfeiffer) and is distributed by Fontana North Distribution. When asked about the relationship between them and their label, their reply was as refreshing as their take on music: "We're all friends here."
