Who doesn’t love a soft, cozy cashmere sweater? It screams both ultimate comfort and lavish luxury all at once. However, if you read the label sewn into your favourite cashmere sweater, it will most likely say “dry clean only”.

Of course you know that you can’t throw a cashmere sweater in even the delicate cycle without risk of damaging it! But, we’ll let you in on a little secret that will save your precious time and your precious money (enabling you to go out and buy another great cashmere piece!)
Washing cashmere
Hand-wash your cashmere sweater. By gently washing a cashmere sweater by hand, it will actually, over time, increase the softness of your precious garment – making it all the more amazing! The trick is to wash it with either a mild detergent or any sort of baby shampoo.
Drying cashmere
After washing and rinsing, dab out the excess water and smooth out any wrinkles. Lay the sweater flat on top of a towel. Be sure not to squeeze or wring out water as this will distort the shape as it dries. After the sweater has completely dried out, fold it up (never hang it to avoid awful shoulder dimples) for storage until the next time you want to wear it!
